Heidi’s Artwork

When she’s not teaching or working on freelance assignments, Heidi continues to draw and paint. Both mediums are a means to express various milestones in her life.

Artists such as Wendy Artin, Julia Margret Cameron, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Robert Mapplethorpe, Georgia O’Keeffe, Beatrix Potter, and John Singer Sargent have all influenced her work.

Heidi participates year-round in juried and group exhibitions. All paintings are
created on cold press watercolor paper. Dimensions are as noted.

Heidi began pulling Polaroid transfer prints in 1996. Even though color enhancement can be done to the prints, Heidi believes in keeping them unaltered, and individually unique.

With Polaroid stopping the sales of its instant film after 2009, Heidi continues to pull prints by using Fuji Film’s transfer process.

Never being without a camera wherever she goes, Heidi continues to capture images with a point-and-shoot, DSLR, or iPhone camera. Additional photos can be seen on Heidi’s Flickr page and on Instagram.

While in the graduate program at School of Visual Arts, Heidi began experimenting with video. Some of her work can be viewed on the Vimeo website.
